WOW. This is what I get for not doing anything on this blog for 5 months. Neat changes to the website. Hopefully I will be able to navigate this site easier than before.
Well, over the last few months,.....
this just in. I am watching Fox News adn there is an item about ACE, the Association of Club Executives, which own, among other things strip clubs, is sending out a letter to member club owners urging them to register their clientelle to vote and encourage them to vote against Pres Bush because of his "ultra-conservatism". This so-called "ultra-conservatism" may lead to these strip clubs closing down. And this is bad because. I can see it now. Several of these clubs close down, forcing the dancers out and since they have no other marketable skills are forced to file for unemployment. And it's all the president's fault!!!
and now back to our regular programming.....
I have retired from the Air Force, got a temp job, finished that temp job, didn't work for awhile, got another temp job, and all along searched, dilligently sometimes, for permanent employment.
And now the rest of the story.....
I was listening to a Steven Curtis Chapman CD at work today. One of the songs, Only Natural, really struck home. In the song, Steven (yes we are on a first name basis) talks, well sings, actually, about how foolish he is because he is still acting like he is a slave to the prison from which he has been set free. So, I was thinking, in order to stop this behavior, I have to be holy. Be holy because God is holy. I decided to look up the word HOLY at miriam-webster.com. It says exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness. What? Perfect? How can I be perfect? Jesus was the only perfect person in all of creation!! I remember when I was younger my dad used to ask me, at report card time, if these grades were the best I could do. Of course they were! My dad didn't want perfection from me. He wanted my best effort. My best performance. He wanted my best. And that is exactly what God wants from us, in my humble opinion. God wants our best. And our best is us. Let me say that again. Our best is us. Our selves, our souls and bodies. Sound familiar? We are the best because we have been created that way. We may stumble and fall along the way, but we can get right back up and continue our PERFECT path towards righteousness. There is a song by Bob Carlisle which puts it pretty susinctly. The saints are the sinners who fall down and get back up.
That's all for now. See you in another 5 months, or sooner if necessary.
