Well, my fellow bloggers, tonight's missive is brought to you by "REALITY" TV. Bear with me, as I am writing this while watching the Sugar Bowl, and taking time to read to the kids. (How do I do it?) It is great fun, to say the least. I forgot to mention doing laundry and ironing. Really, just ask Kathy. I digress, again.

Reality TV has dived into greater depths of the quagmire. Todd TV! Oh, yeah. There is a show for the ages. A guy, who I believe has been billed as a "looser" now lives his life under the watchful eye of America. Those who have nothing better to do, watch this show and VOTE on what actions Todd should take next. Now, there could be some benefits out of something like this. On Steve TV, my fellow Americans would vote on whether I should watch hockey or basketball. For dinner, my choices would be T-bone, fries and corn on the cob or 5 alarm chili and salad. (4:03 left in the game, LSU 21 OU14, but on the move)

What has happened to us when we take great delight in screwing up, potentially, another's life-a life which, if we are to believe what is touted on the idiot box is screwed up already. Has poor, unfortunate Todd really reached rock bottom that he needs us to decide his fate? If I ever get into that sort of circumstance, please allow me to put myself out of your misery!

We have had several seasons of Survivor, Big Brother, the Bachelor, and the Bachelorette. Joe Millionaire has come into our midst as we laugh out loud as some guy dupes women into believing he is rich and looking Miss Right. And then to top it all off, we have suffered through Trista and Ryan's wedding. Thank goodness there were no cameras on the wedding night, although, that could lend itself to a whole new style of programming. Just ask Paris Hilton. I heard on a NEWS program (in case you have forgotten, a NEWS program is a show where reality is presented to us in no uncertain terms) that Trista and Ryan are now going to live happliy ever after. Lets see, they have been married a grand total of about 2 months or so. Well, in Hollywood circles, that is nearly an eternity. (2:09 left, still 21-14 LSU, but OU has the ball).

I listened to a local talk radio program which was discussing the possibility of a constitutional amendment, defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The question was raised regarding giving homosexual persons the right to marry. I remember the host lambasting conservatives regarding the "sanctity of marriage". (GAME OVER. LSU are National Champs. Go Tigers!)

Okay, where was I. Sanctity of marriage. If we are going to through terms out, we had better make sure we know what they mean. Sanctity means:
1 : holiness of life and character : GODLINESS
2 a : the quality or state of being holy or sacred : INVIOLABILITY

Now let's put that in context of marriage. If marriage is supposed to be holy, don't you think we ought to look at what the original meaning of marriage was? A union between ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN. I don't think it is important as how we enter the bonds of holy matrimony, as long as it is soberly and howr else the prayer book describes it.

So how did I get from Todd TV to marriage? I have no idea. But, as the game is over, the kids are in bed, the wash has been done, it is time for me to go. Nighty night.
